Ventura KOA Family Camp
WHAT: We’ll be heading to the Ventura KOA to spend the weekend learning scout skills, swimming, and generally having a good time with the facilities provided to us by the KOA, including a ropes course with ziplining.
WHEN: Friday, June 2nd meet at 6:00 pm in the Jack in the Box parking lot (2101 Palos Verdes Dr. N, Lomita, CA 90717), Departure time should be 6:30. We will then arrive at the KOA to set up tents. We will leave the KOA Sunday morning.
WHERE: Ventura Campgrounds of America, 7400 Pine Grove Road, Santa Paula CA 93060
WEAR: Full Class-A’s (including hat & neckerchief); Troop sweatshirt. Bring Class Bs for the KOA as well.
BRING: All Ten essentials, including but not limited to rain gear, extra clothes, swim suit and towel, water bottles, compass, tent, sleeping bag, sleeping pad, sunscreen, and bug spray. (Knives and fire starters for those who have totem and fireman chit)
FOOD: EAT DINNER BEFORE WE LEAVE!!!! Saturday Breakfast, Saturday Lunch, Saturday Dinner, and Sunday Breakfast will be done in cooking groups. Bring $10-$15 to get Sunday’s lunch on the ride home.
FEES: Camping is $30 per person and includes swimming pool, giant jumping pillow, cornhole game boards, bocci ball and a labyrinth walk. For extra fees there is ziplining, rock climbing, t-shirt tie-dying, and gem mining. These are limited to a minimum group and need to be reserved in advance. Selections to be made in the CheddarUp shopping cart. SIGN-UPS MUST BE DONE BY MAY 20TH
DRIVERS: Due to parking limitations, the Troop Travel Coordinator will select drivers based on size of vehicle and number of attendees. Map and driving directions will be given Friday night.
